 The Retro Rockets are a Northern California band that specializes in Live Classic Rock and Roll, Blues and Motown with an emphasis on the music of the 60's.

Our group features two male singers, but the star of our show is Ms. Carolyn Thorn whose vocal styling and performance has been compared to the legendary Janis Joplin. Countless times we've watched jaws drop and packed houses come to a stand still when Carolyn breaks into Joplin's "Piece of my Heart."

Many of the songs we play you just won’t hear live anywhere else. Here’s just a few of the artists we cover: The Beatles, The Who, Janis Joplin/Big Brother& The Holding Company, The Rolling Stones, Joni Mitchell, Badfinger, CCR, Paul McCartney, Van Morrison, Thunderclap Newman, Buffalo Springfield, Spencer Davis, Johnny Rivers, Booker T & MG's, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, The Young Rascals, Richie Valens, Wilson Pickett and many more!

Our sound is classic as well, our guitar amplifiers are vacuum tube based just as they were in the 60's and many of the guitars, amps and effect pedals we use are vintage or vintage reproductions.

Our past venues have included:
Night Clubs, Corporate Events, Charity Events, Special Events for The City of San Jose & The City of Santa Clara, Grand Openings, High School Reunions, Private Parties and Political / Environmental Organizations.
